An overview of the modules the academy offers are noted below.
Module 1
This module deals with many international definitions of the phenomenon that is terrorism. This module will also broaden the definition of terrorism to include the following terms:
- Terrorist;
- Terror and To Terrorize; and
- Propaganda.
- As well as those engaged in terrorism, such as Al-Qaeda, which has inspired super terrorism in the 21st century, it will help you find a pragmatic definition so that you, as part of the international community, will be able to better formulate effective anti and counter-terrorism strategies to combat and contain terrorism and its perpetrators.
- A certificate of completion will be awarded for test scores above 70%.
Module 2
We examine various definitions and understandings of why terrorists are motivated to seek to create mass casualties and the measures that can be taken by counter terrorism officials to minimize those risks. The research on creating this module has shown that the reasons, that motivate terrorists, are deeply:
- Political;
- Religious; and
- Extremely ideological
- Moreover, this module will examine the risks involved both to terrorists and to counter-terrorism officials in their desire to defeat each other. It will also be necessary to draw on various statements, e.g. Ideological figures such as Osama bin Laden (alleged former leader of the Al-Qaeda phenomenon);
- Various texts from the Islamic Koran; and
- Various academic writings from former intelligence services officials.
- A certificate of completion will be awarded for test scores above 70%.
Module 3
This module analyses the capabilities of a state in its abilities to protect its citizens and critical infrastructures with:
- International counter-terrorism personnel
- Law enforcement
- Intelligence agencies
- Military arms
We will also look at their role in defeating both the terrorists and their desires to create death, mass casualties, loss, harm and serious damage while transmitting extremist propaganda to force political change within targeted democratic states.
A certificate of completion will be awarded for test scores above 70%.
